Finding Regular Chests In Hossberg Wetlands
The Hossberg Wetlands is full of treasures waiting to be found. There are 18 regular chests hidden throughout this area, and each chest holds valuable items that can help you on your journey. This guide will help you find all these chests by giving you clear directions and tips.
Old Crossroads Area
Begin your adventure at the Old Crossroads Beacon, which is in the eastern part of the map. From here, go north into the Flooded Farmlands area.
- First Chest: Look for a house with a ladder outside. Climb the ladder and walk around the ledges to find your first chest hidden around the corner.
- Unique Chest: After you complete the quest called “Something’s Coming,” return to the Old Crossroads area. Look for a wall that used to be covered in Blight. This wall is now gone, and behind it, you will find a unique chest waiting for you.
Flooded Farmlands Area
- Next Chest: From the Flooded Farmlands Beacon, which is located in the northeast, follow the western wall as you move north. You will soon see a house with a chest inside. You can enter easily from the northern sid
Sheltered Glade Area
- New Area: After finishing the “Something’s Coming” quest, you can explore a new area called Sheltered Glade. Here, flowers bloom again, and one of the chests is waiting for you to find it.
Solitude’s Edge Area
- Starting from Solitude’s Edge: Go to the Solitude’s Edge Beacon in the southeast part of the map. Move northeast until you see a Blight Abscess. Use Assan to clear it out, then hit the Boil on the nearby wall to break it.
- Finding Another Chest: After breaking that Boil, look for another Abscess at the back of this area. Clear it out too, and then burst another Boil on the doorway of a nearby house. Go inside and break some boards at the back to reach another chest.
- Special Quest Chest: You can also find a unique chest in this area by completing the “Gate of Pale Reflections” quest. Defeat Amarell the Unwoven, who is a level 35 Champion, to access this special chest behind them.
Blighted Shallows Area
- Exploring Blighted Shallows: Head to Blighted Shallows after finishing “Fire and Ice.” From the Blighted Shallows Beacon in the southeast, travel south toward where you see a dragon arena. Instead of jumping down right away, take a loop around and have Harding retract a stone platform nearby.
- Claiming Your Reward: Burst open a Boil and enter a house where you will need to break some boards at the back to reach another treasure chest.
Castle Grounds Area
- Accessing Castle Grounds: Go south through Lost Village from Swamp Road Beacon (which is west on your map). As you climb stairs into this area, look left for a Wisp that Emmrich can activate.
- Finding More Chests: Take this Wisp south and watch for breakable boards on your right wall. Go inside and place the Wisp in a device to drop a ladder leading up to another chest.
- Another Easy Chest: Continue south from where you just found that chest into a courtyard area. Find a doorway on your left side and go through it to reach another chest at the back of this area across some beams.
Lost Village Area
- Quest Unlocks Chest: During the “Lives Spared” quest, which unlocks after completing “Siege of Weisshaupt,” return to Lost Village and clear out enemies there first.
- Breaking Boils: Burst several Boils on walls until you clear out enough Blight to access this chest after completing quest objectives.
Inner Courtyard Area
- Finding Wisps: In Inner Courtyard, climb higher on northern walls until you spot some Boils and walkways below you. Go down to ground level where you will find another Wisp that Emmrich can soothe.
- Using Wisps for Chests: Quickly return up with this Wisp and place it in an activation device to drop another ladder leading up where you’ll find yet another treasure chest waiting for you.
The remaining chests are located in places like Cavernous Tunnels, Gaspin Manor, and other areas within Hossberg Wetlands. Some chests may require solving puzzles or completing quests before they become accessible.
Always remember to explore each area carefully as you go through your main story quests! Some chests may only be reachable after completing certain tasks or gaining new abilities in Dragon Age Veilguard!

Finding Unique Chests In Hossberg Wetlands
The Hossberg Wetlands also has two unique chests that offer special loot for your characters:
- Solitude’s Edge Unique Chest: Accept the “Gate of Pale Reflections” quest in the Crossroads to access this chest. Go to Solitude’s Edge and defeat Amarell the Unwoven, a level 35 Champion. After you win, claim the Field-Commander’s Helm from the chest behind it.
- Old Crossroads Unique Chest: This chest becomes available after completing “Something’s Coming.” Return to Old Crossroads and look for a now-removed Blight Wall in the southeast to find this unique chest.
These unique chests contain valuable items that can help improve your character’s abilities.
Solving Puzzles For Extra Rewards
In addition to chests, there are two puzzles in Hossberg Wetlands that reward players with extra loot:
- Gaspin Manor Statue Puzzle: Inside Gaspin Manor, you will find a statue puzzle waiting for you. Solve this puzzle to unlock a hidden chest filled with valuable items. Pay close attention to clues around you to figure out how to solve it.
