Pokémon Go players are very excited about the new Dynamax Raids feature that started on September 10, 2024. These big battles let trainers work together to fight strong Dynamax Pokémon. If you want to know how to enter in Dynamax Raids in Pokémon Go, keep reading to find out more!
What Are Dynamax Raids?
Dynamax Raids are a special type of battle in Pokémon Go. In these raids, you and up to three other trainers can team up to defeat a giant Dynamax Pokémon. These huge Pokémon appear at special places called Power Spots around the world. When you defeat a Dynamax Pokémon in a raid, you have a chance to catch it and add it to your Pokémon collection.
Getting Your Dynamax Pokémon
To enter a Dynamax Raid, you need to have at least one Dynamax Pokémon ready to fight. You can get your first Dynamax Pokémon by completing the “To the Max!” Special Research quest. This quest is available for trainers who are level 13 and higher. Completing this quest will reward you with chances to catch Dynamax Wooloo and Skwovet.
Using Max Particles
Instead of using a Raid Pass like in regular raids, you will use Max Particles to enter a Dynamax Raid. The cost to enter is 250 Max Particles for the one-star raids featuring the Kanto starters and Wooloo. You can collect Max Particles by visiting Power Spots, which give you 120 particles, and by walking 2 kilometers, which rewards you with 300 particles.
Finding Power Spots
Power Spots are the special locations where Dynamax Raids happen. You can find the nearest Power Spots and see which Dynamax Pokémon is waiting for you by checking the Power Spot tab on your Pokémon radar. This tab is located in the bottom right corner of the screen. Keep in mind that Power Spots are only active for a short time, so you need to move quickly if you want to catch a specific Dynamax Pokémon.
Battling In Dynamax Raids
Once you have your team of Dynamax Pokémon and enough Max Particles, you are ready to enter a Dynamax Raid. Here is how the battle works:
- Tap the screen to use Fast Attacks and build energy for Charged Attacks, just like in regular battles.
- As you attack, you will fill up the Dynamax Meter at the top of the screen. Collect energy icons that appear on the battlefield to fill it up faster.
- When the meter is full, your Pokémon will Dynamax for three turns, allowing you to use powerful Max Moves.
- Watch out for the boss targeting you and swipe to dodge its attacks.
- If your team defeats the Dynamax Pokémon, you will have a chance to catch it. If all your Pokémon faint, you can still try again without losing your Max Particles.
Rewards and Bonuses
Dynamax Raids offer many rewards and bonuses besides the chance to catch the Dynamax Pokémon:
- You can earn 2x XP for spinning PokéStops and completing Dynamax Raids during the “Go Big” event from September 10-15.
- Special Field Research tasks will reward you with items, Dynamax Pokémon encounters, and more Max Particles.
- You can even place your own Dynamax Pokémon at Power Spots to help other trainers battling there.
Now you know how to enter in Dynamax Raids in Pokémon Go! Gather your friends, get your Dynamax team ready, and prepare to take on these exciting challenges.
